Vitamins For Acne Scarring

What Vitamins Help with Acne and Acne Scars??? I have some pimples, and acne scars and was wondering what vitmains help, and how much i should take of these vitamins. Please don't prescribe hair, skin, and nails vitamins or prenatals.
Thanks!!!

IV replied: "i tried this make a facial with
carrots
oatmeal
little milk
aloe vera
blend it together
put in on your face then take a shower."

More S replied: "Monoatomic elements like silver and gold may help this, just one of its many benifits are healing scars and keeping healthy skin. It has rejuvinating and regeneritive properties. One test on a cat which lost its tail which was given a daily dose for several months the tail completeley grew back.
That is the original source of the product however other websites do sell it cheaper, i have not tested other websites. The way David Hudson makes his m-state elements is patinted and proven to work. So it's best to stick with what has been proven. I have orderd my second bottle of triad and finished my first. One of a fairley prominant scars on my hand has almost completeley blended into my skin and the others have improved. These are just some of the physical benfits.

Go to the website and read it up loads of articles linked on the website, bear in mind they need to use terms like "Theoreticly" because the FDA has not approved it for humans because scientists have shown what it can do, therefore scares the drug companys! Look at some of the testimonials too."

Luv2Bnatural replied: "Hi! You need Alpha lipoic acid, DMAE & coQ10. These are the best for helping with your skin fight free radicals. They sell a product at called NSI prevantin. I ordered it, I haven't recieved it yet but the reviews on it are better than antibiotics and it also helps with scars!"

bliss replied: "You haven't tried using mederma? i have very pale skin - i get scars from MOSQUITO bites...and Mederma always helps me.
It's pretty awesome."

atkins_paige replied: "take vitamin E. also break open the capsules and rub the gel on ur face for scarring."

How can you get rid of acne scars using natural products or vitamins? Pretty girl where I work now has clear skin but has light scarring. Probably wouldn't go to a beautician.

:) replied: "vitamin e gel capsules
makes scars fade"

southernsweetie replied: "I use "nature's cure" it works pretty good at treating acne you have now and making scares disapear..and it doesn't cost that much, I only spent like $10..good luck!"

Piojita replied: "I use tooth paste, and believe me it works!"

vitamins for acne scars? i have really bad acne scars...bad..i have heard oth sides of the vitamin e coin..some poeple swear by it, but there are studies that prove that vitamin e actually made skin worse. i am afraid to take it topically..has anyone taken the pills orally and had success? what about other vitamins?
also: out of curiosity: does anyoneknow how long to keep the vitamin E on the skin for? is it overnight or do you rince it off?

replied: ""

what kind of vitamins are good for acne and scars when you have very sensitive skin? My niece has developed both acne and scars and it is very depressing mentally and physically for her. I didn't want her to be put on medication because they have side affects to them, so I was wondering does anybody have any advice on this situation I would really appreciate it.

chacha777 replied: "A pharmacist told me Vitamin E is the best vitamin intake for skin and hair. While it won't take away scars and acne, it does wonders for the skin and hair."

ms65442 replied: "Here are two articles on treating acne & subsequent scars that might be of help to you.

What exactly does vitamin E do for acne scar? I was wondering if Vitamin E is good for reducing redness from a pimple scar? Does vitamin e stimulate collagen build in some sort? How effective is vitamin e from your experience on acne scars?
Also, what other remedies do you recommend for fading scars or reducing scar redness? Thanks.

Medicgirl replied: "More recent studies show vitamin E does nothing. They now think it's actually the rubbing/massaging of the scar when you apply some kind of ointment that helps with healing."

Lexi B replied: "im unsure about acne scars but i am diabetic and when i get a scar it is nearly impossible to make it go away but when i use vitamin E it works really well for me so i dont see why it wouldnt for you."

uhohyoureugly replied: "i think tea tree oil works really good.. for acne period and the scars from it as well... read up on it.."

Brian G replied: "Well some studies have shown vitamin E helps with skin, hair and nails. But my personal experience is it depends if you take it daily or not only when somethingn is in dissaray.

Just like any meds it only helps if you take it everyday for at least a few months to get the results they claim.

So yes vitamin E is good for a pimple scar but dont think it will go away in a few days, try taking that everyday like i do and a good vitamin wont do harm as well. (not saying you arent taking you daily vitamin but it helps. )"

Ok im really tired of trying all kinds of creams and vitamins to help some acne scars i have on my chin? Do you guys have any idea on how to get rid of acne scarrs i get really deppressed when i look in the mirror and ive pritty much tried everything
so please tell me all u know i need to get rid of these things i cant live like this
thanks

spiritwalker replied: "start massing olive oil on daily. They'll start to go away. In enough time gone."

Shannon R replied: "You tried Mederma? It's for burn treatments but I've heard only great things about it. I've heard olive oil works as suggested, but can be problematic too. Time will do a great deal of healing as well. One of my friends started using proactive & sun tanning in the indoor salons & hers disappeared. The tanning stimulates the natural oils in your body. She only went 1 a week for 10-15 minutes. Another friend switched to proactive & using bare minerals make up. I hope some of this helps or one of these is doable for you. The more you touch them the worse they get so apparently hands off is a key to them disappearing quickest."

Is it alright to apply mederma or vitamin e to my acne scars while my face is still breaking out? Hi, I've only recently suffered from acne. I'm 15, i would say my acne is moderate. That said, i have already started to produce some acne scars that are quite significant. Right now i am applying vitamin e to the scars, while also applying acne gel to the active acne. is this alright? i read somewhere that you should only start treating your acne scars once you are totally finished breaking out. Is this true? or should i just continue on treating my acne scars?

rysa replied: "i have found the best thing for acne scars aloe vera gel as it helps scars disappearbut also leaves ur face free of oil which prevents acne with the added bonus of using no harmful chemicals"

Anoosha replied: "Get a bottle of T-tree essential oil,
mix a few drops with fresh Aloe Vera pulp
and put it on your face as you do with facial masks.."

Stfu replied: "you should stop. your skin can react to the mederma and cause more breakouts! just wait till your skin is clear . what better? a few scars on your face for a while [which not much people care about] or a crazy amount of acne on your face? good luck!"

Levi L replied: "I would try"

What would work faster/better on acne scars-vitamin e, bio oil, or mederma? ? Just the things listed please :)
I don't want anything that will make me break out, but i want to fade a few that i have. (probably 2 big ones, then a few little ones)
So which would work the best and the fastest? :)
**no spam, and no recommending other things! thanks**

Kimberly replied: "vitamin e"

Sarah S replied: "bio oil has worked the best for all the customers i have recommended it to (I'm a beauty advisor) and i haven't heard any complaints about it yet!"

Shiloh4747 replied: "People have different skin types, but Neosporin work faster than any other three. I tried them all. Also shea butter or tea tree oil worked great too."

Nikki <3 replied: "Bio oil works on EVERYTHING ♥
goodluck."

Booom! replied: "Bio oil works IF your currently not breaking out otherwiase it causes more spots! I'd say vitamin E personally."

mbw_95 replied: "i personaly say Vitamin E oil because it heals dry skin. areas where you have had breakouts and now have scars..are usually dry and flaky. i would use the Vitamin E oil because it not only heals the chapped/dry/ flacky area but it soothes and softens the skin leaving behind a heathy look and feel. plus it is an oil that ur skin already has and sometimes not enough so this might be what it takes! hope this helps.. Vitamins For Acne Free Skin

How can I have acne free skin? alot of things don't seem to work!? I have had mild-severe acne for all of my teenage years and still do. I am 20 now. I have tried alot of things to prevent my acne such as antibiotics, herbal medicines, vitamins, proactive, clinique(3 step face wash), differin & cetaphil. I do excersize here and there and try to drink water and have improved my sleep. I also suffer from depression and am stresed all the time. I drink alot of coffee(that's they only thing I enjoy having and am used to the hit). Any suggestions will be helpful. Thanks, much appreciated :)

pamela replied: "Have you ever heard of natural Acne-Home-Remedies? There are several natural methods in which acne can be prevented. These simple natural Acne-Home-Remedies are very effective. If running to the plastic surgeon or having expensive laser treatments are not for you, I have great tips for you.
"

katlyin replied: "Changing your facewashes and lotions makes it worse. The skin has to get used to it and you should stick to one for as long as possible.... big mistake everyone makes!

You should also do LESS IS MORE... don't combine techniques! If you try anything new, it will take up to a month to get used to it completely and make an effect.

Dump all of your pills/lotions for a while. Also try to lay off the coffee (but I doubt it has a huge impact)

1) water
2) a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar after lunch and dinner. or morning/evening... up to you.

Should show results in 2 weeks.

just google apple cider vinegar and acne... it works!!! i tried it too."

Skincare Guru replied: "To address acne effectively you need to make sure you are using the correct home care program for your skin. Also cosmeceutical products have much higher levels of active ingredients which do affect the skin in a positive way. Things like antibiotics help to mask the condition but do not treat it so it comes back when you finish using the medicine. All spots are a type of Acne. There are basically 2 types of Acne - inflamed ( red, full of puss and sometimes sore to touch ) and non inflamed ( blackheads & whiteheads). Both can be addressed by using products which keep the pores clean and exfoliate within the pore. The ingredient used for this is Salicylic Acid which is gentle enough to use every day. And you do need to use the correct products every day - as it is what you are doing every day that counts

Remy replied: "Make an appointment with a dermatologist. Ask to start the treatment of accutane (roaccutane, clavaris and all other generic brands.) This is a 5 month course, you pop a pill twice a day and by the end of the 5 months, your skin will be clear. Very clear. You say you suffer from depression, your acne could play a huge role in that. It did for me. Some of the side effects of accutane are rather scary; they put down that accutane can cause severe mood swings/depress. HOWEVER, I've never seen anyone suffer from anything worse than chapped lips (both my brothers and sister have used accutane) Hope this helps :)"

Marple Bloom replied: "Hi,

Ninety five percent of the people who use conventional acne treatments get rid of their acne temporarily and sometimes their acne ends up worse than when they started. Curing acne can never be achieved by tackling one of the many factors responsible for ne. If you've ever tried to cure your acne using a one-dimensional treatment like antibiotics or even detox diets and failed it's probably because you tackled only one aspect of the disease.

The Acne, skin care and drug industries are filled with snake oil marketing vampires that are getting rich by preying on our desperation, hopes and dreams. The second thing we discovered is that almost everyone is dead wrong in the way they try to control and treat their acne. It's a fact; the methods we're probably using right now to clear our acne might be severely damaging our internal system and your health.

Most of us have tried: Accutane, Antibiotics, Zenmed, Proactive, Oratin, Benezoyl peroxide, hydrotherapy, aromatherapy, macrobiotics, reflexology, Chinese Medicine, vegetarianism, the Wai diet, magnetic therapy, the mucus-less diet, blood type diet, went to psychiatrists, homeopaths and even healers...Yet we Still Suffered From Severe Acne.

Needless to say most of these methods, treatments and so called cures either made our skin condition and our acne worse and filled us with heart breaking disappointment and frustration or they worked only short term, and acne came back with a vengeance. Some of these treatments simply didn't have any effect what so ever on our skin condition.

The only way you can ever cure your acne is from within by listening to what your body is trying to tell you, work with it and free yourself by curing your acne holistically, just like i do."

Clear, acne/blackhead-free skin.? I don't have really bad skin, but it is very far from perfect. I'm with the most amazing girl now who loves me for who I am - but I still feel quite self-concious about my skin.

My problems are spots, blackheads and dry skin. I used spot creams, wash my face twice a day, drink plenty of water and a reasonable diet. I really need help!

I've heard that Vitamins C and E are useful, and Silica. Please try and suggest some serious ways to improve my skin.

Thanks

Jason R replied: "Obtaining and maintaining clear skin is a million dollar industry, and there is no "ultimate cure" but there are things you can do to help:

First keep in mind that acne is caused by a bacteria called propionibacterium acnes (p. acnes for short), and as such, the vitamin C and E you've mentioned above help more as an anti-inflammatory and skin-repair tool than a bactericide (Vitamins C and E are well-known antioxidants). This in mind, it may be helpful to add the common anti-acne chemical benzoyl peroxide to your routine. Read the back of the labels on the products you use, it's listed in most acne medication. Make sure you're not stingy on the application of the product either. Also remember that a higher percent of benzoyl peroxide increases efficacy, but it can also dry out your skin.

Additionally, cleansing your skin is important. I'd recommend using a gentle cleanser and exfoliant called "cetaphil" which will not dry out your skin.

Lastly, do your best to keep your hair and fingers away from touching your face. Ever notice how oftentimes you get acne in certain spots? It's probably because that's a place you scratch at a lot, and scratching spreads the bacteria (As does popping pimples, especially when you pop them too early). Hope this helps!"

Married young and happy replied: "Hi!

I actually found a facial oil that slows down your skins oil production, clears up pimples/ acne and dissolves black heads within 4-8 weeks I put all the info on my blog as it's quite detailed:

I also put a full article of how to extract blackheads and steam your skin.

Black heads are basically a hardened oil mixture that was secreted from your pores and oxidized (which makes the outside part black) and since water and oil don't mix, no water based product can "clean" your blackheads away, just try say putting certain foundations or makeups on the mirror and if you wipe it with water it smudges all over but put a little baby oil and wipe and tada! it comes off super clean AND dissolves it. So this is basically how this oil works. It's composition is such that the skin accepts it as a healing oil and it does not clog your skin but rather protects it while the plant extracts inside go down into the pores (this absorption is made possible by applying the toner to the skin before applying the oil and then applying the dabs of oil over your moistened face), it then penetrates into the pores.

I put where to the name of the oil and prices in stores versus on eBay as well as how to apply it on my blog:

Also be sure to check out all the links on my blog as they have lots of info!!!

For acne you may want to Google Drying Lotion by Mario Badescu.

Take care and good luck!

How to get rid of acne scars for darker skin? I used to have really bad acne and since i have naturally dark skin, it left dark acne spots. Now my skin is acne-free, but i still have those ugly acne scars left behind? how do i get rid of them for good and fast! ive tried aveeno, bio-oil, exfoliating daily, and vitamin E but nothing has fast results. please suggest something that you know actually works please. thanks!

Cutie..x replied: "What's good in your body can show on your face. Eating a balance meal can help greatly, especially foods that detoxify your body. Also, water can become nature's cure. Try to get 8 glasses of water in, and within days you'll notice clearer looking skin.

If you have oily skin, try using a daily scrub to exfoliate your skin. Recommended products are St. Ives Apricot Scrub (there are different types, and any of them would work) and Aveno face scrub for blackheads.

Using an astringent can help, but some of them can leave a burning sensation. A very gentle astringent that’s all natural and cost efficient is Witch Hazel. Just put some on a cotton ball and rub gently onto your skin.

Some say using a face mask twice a month works, but best results have been found using one twice a week. Find a face mask that shrinks pores or detoxifies your face. Recommended products are St. Ives Firming Mask, Olay Deep Cleansing Clay Mask, and Andrea's Face Spa (comes in packets).

Put Aloe Vera on the marks. Its a natural moisturizer and protects your skin (which is why its highly recommended for minor cuts and burns). Also, putting non-medicated Calamine Lotion on blemishes can help dry up the excess oils and make them go away faster. Best time to put it on is at night.

Most importantly, always use a moisturizer with sunscreen in it. It helps protect your face from dryness and the sun. A recommended product is Aveno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15. Wearing makeup with built in SPF 15 is also a plus.

Besides moisturizers, there are also lotions that help even out skin tone, which is a bonus to overcoming scars and dark blemishes. A good lotion that helps keep skin soft and even is Cocoa Butter lotion. Its a natural remedy to any part of your body, and is especially known to cure stretch marks and "crowsfeet." Cocoa Butter is a natural key in keeping redness out and radiant skin in.

hope i helped xoxo :)"

Israo S replied: "Have a chemical peel performed. This is a good treatment for very light acne scarring. Different types of acid are applied to the top layer of the skin. The acid is then removed about 15 minutes later. Again this will remove the top damaged layers of the epidermis. Redness and swelling is common after the procedure. Depending on the amount of acid applied, recovery time can take from a day to a couple of weeks."

JASMINE replied: "mederma, or you can get an aloe plant and cut the tips and rub the juice all over your face everyday. it is very moisturizing which will heal the scars. or butter cream but i dont suggest this unless your skin is dry cuz it can cause breakouts. or neutrogena acne fade peel"

Will taking Vitamin C and Zinc supplements help acne? My acne isn't servere. I have quite a few pimples around my chin area and on my forehead. They are usually very red and inflamed. I have been taking Vitamin C for a couple of weeks now and I have noticed an improvement in my skin. I heard Zinc can be beneficial also and result in healthier, acne free skin.

Will taking both these supplements help? What are the advantages and disadvantages?

Thanks.

Lee replied: "Advantages - apparently vitamin C might be helping your skin condition. Zinc is listed in helping skin problems
Disadvantages - Both have serious side effects if used in high doses or for too long. Keep the C down to 1000 mg a day and the zinc at 15 mg per day. Use both for no more than a couple of weeks."

What kind of vitamins should i be taking to help keep my skin clear and healthy? Suggestions for vitamins i should take to keep my skin clear of acne, smooth, non-oily and wrinkle free.

So which nutrients do you need to keep your skin healthy and looking its best? According to the experts interviewed by WebMD, plus new information from the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), the following vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other nutrients nourish your skin, whether you take them in supplement form, apply them directly to you skin, or make sure you get enough from the foods you eat.
Vitamins Good for Skin Nutrition

Vitamins C, E, A, K, and B complex can all help improve skin health. Here's how:

Vitamins C and E. Among the most important new dermatologic discoveries is the power of vitamins to counter the effects of sun exposure.

In research presented at the 2002 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology, Duke University researcher Sheldon Pinnell and colleagues demonstrated that "appreciable photoprotection can be obtained from topical vitamins C and E."

"Topical Vitamin C can prevent the consequences of prolonged sun exposure which can lead to skin cancer," says Karen E. Burke, MD, in a news release. "Supplementation with natural Vitamin E in 400 mg per day has been noted to reduce photodamage, wrinkles and improve skin texture.""

Tiffany B replied: "Vitamin C is the best for your skin. For your acne, ProActiv is a good product. The best creme is the "The Refining Mask" made by them. If you don't want to really mess with the whole kit, then you can get just that mask and it does wonders. It is not good to use the other stuff on a regular basis because your skin can get immuned to it and when you don't have any, it can make your face receive more acne. But the refining mask is great, it smooths bumps in one day. I hope it works. I don't know about wrinkles though."

:)Gelly(: replied: "You should just eat really healthy and you wouldn't need to take any vitamins. Taking those kinds of things for your skin don't work at all. If they do, it looks like its' working from the outside but on the inside it's clogging your skin and is EXTREMELY unhealthy. Though nobody says so because they want there product to sell so that they can make money."

2008MARCH29 replied: "Multivitamin with dinner or breakfast once a day.
Sunscreen protection with highest spf for wrinkle protection. Even on non hot sunny days/everyday!
Drink water. Avoid caffeine."

Is this a good skin care regimen for someone with mild acne/combo skin? I'm 16 and have tried everything to get my pale, creamy skin to be completely pimple-free. I'm using Epi-Duo Prescription for the acne so I don't want to dry my face out too much.

I've tried:
Clarins, Neutrogena, Clean and Clear, Boscia, Shiseido, Biotherm, burts bees, aveeno, Bare escentuals, and prob more I'm forgetting.

My current regimen is:
AM: wash with Burt's Bees (BB) willowbark cleanser
tone with BB rosewater toner (which has alcohol)
put on Clindagel
Put on olay active hydrating moisturizer and follow with bare minerals makeup

PM same washing and toning plus epiduo gel, no moisture

My new regimen consists of:
AM: wash with Jurlique purifying foaming cleanser
tone with clarins alcohol free toner for combo/oily skin
clindagel
moisturize with bare vitamins skin rever upper
PM: same wash and tone, no moisturizer, and epiduo gel

exfoliating 3x per week with burts bees orange essence scrub

Do you think this is a good combination of products for my skin type? Have any of you ever used these products in combination with one another? Thanks!!!

Cappychic replied: "Try all natural it works amazing!!!--d_n073pc"

Emma replied: "It's hard to say because pale, creamy skin doesn't tell me much about your skin type, just about your skin color. However, you're right to be careful while you're on medication. I think it sounds like a good combination, but just remember that you don't want to use too many products or they'll all combine together and can make your face break out or dry out. There's no one cure for acne, so you'll have to experiment and see what works for you. Just make sure you continue to use moisturizer so your skin doesn't need to over produce oily to make up for being dried out. I've been using an olay moisturizer for a long time, and it helps me, but if you've got one that's working, stick with it."

Can vitamin C lighten skin tone? I have been hearing that vitamin C is good for lightening your skin tone.
Is this true or just a myth, because whenever I purchase products such as FUZE and whatnot that have vitamin C, it always mentions better skin.
Now, when they say better skin, do they mean acne-free skin, or lighter skin, or makes your skin colour come back to normal?
And, there is vitamin C is oranges, RIGHT?
Well, IF vitamin C does lighten the skin tone, should I intake the vitamin C through fruits or vitamin C pills, or creams WITH vitamin C

*ANOTHER QUESTION
I have a farmers tan. So obviously my face is slightly darker than my chest. Will it go back to normal or is a tan permanent?
Cause i've had this tan for ages, but I've never stayed out of the sun until recently.
I have been getting lighter it's just that I lose my tan very slowly.

THANKS
best answer to whoever anwers both my questions
and the questions asked in the questions

rockybouldersmith replied: "I think so, vitamins are good for your body. If you take vitamin C with ecstasy and or shrooms it increases your high by alot. I know that's not relevant but it's a fact. The most you can do is go tanning in a booth or secretly in your back yard so no perves see you."

heyyy replied: "Well when you read that taking vitamin c is good for your skin, it is really good for your skin but it doesn't lighten it. Vitamin c taken internally, enhances your body's collagen production, and that's the only main reason it's good for your skin.

And if you still want to take vitamin c anyways, you could do all 3 ways if you want! I think the best is through fruits and pills though, because i've used vitamin c creams and they don't do much for me : /

For your other question, I'm not sure, but i doubt your tan is permanent. There are certain whitening creams that you can buy online that might help. Another thing you can do (which I'm about to try too) is to buy licorice extract online, and mix it in with a face cream. I read online that that will help lighten skin, so maybe you can google it and check it out?"

Get some Sandalwood powder ( you can get it from any cosmetic store) and make a thin paste with water. At bed time wash your face with warm water and apply this paste on your face and leave for overnight. Wash in the morning with warm water. Do regularly it will fade out your scars completely.

Cleo replied: "I have scarring as well from prior skin sensitivities and oily skin, so I totally feel your pain and it's happening all over again because I'm pregnant so the hormones are wreaking havoc. In my research, I've found that less is more.

To address the oiliness:
- Blotting papers are the best because they remove excess oil without adding irritants or pore clogging makeup. Use before applying make-up and then as needed throughout the day. My favorites are the Japanese ones because they are the most absorbent and yet gentle -
- Consider using gentler cleansers, as benzoil peroxide is quite drying which can actually lead to increased oil production. Your average Cetaphil will do the trick. Save money here.
- Switch moisturizer forms from cream (which are heavy and best for those who want the extra moisture keeping factor) to gels or serums (light hydration that penetrates without coating the skin). My favorite brand is Arcona -

To address the scarring:
- Avoid using all-over face makeup as it clogs pores. Let your skin breath and just dab on mineral concealer where necessary. Make sure it is at least SPF 15 to prevent further scarring. The best I've tried is Colore Science - (from the original founder of Bare Minerals).

To address the issue from inside-out:
- In Eastern cultures, we believe in a balance of "hot" and "cold" in the body. It's not related to temperature, but rather energy. Break-outs are generally attributed to too much "heat" in the body so one would try to avoid "heaty" foods, which include coffee, alcohol, oily/friend foods and spicy foods - in favor of "cold" foods, which include most fruits and veggies (go figure). Acupuncture is also great for "releasing heat".

Good luck!"

ding s. replied: "I've seen good results with Vitamin C for reducing redness. (applied topically not like a tablet form.) You could look into microdermabrasion for the scars, I don't know if you get facials but you could splurge once and try it. For oily skin the best food advice I have is to stay away from spicy food. The products that you are using sound good and it's great that you are in a routine. Look for a vitamin C serum though (some come in powders) Dermologica and Murad are pricier brands but they really work. Good luck."

bounceordie replied: "I think Neutrogena has a body wash that treats acne, You can try that. If your skin is feeling dry, it could be because of the winter weather. exfoliate every other day with a body scrub and/or a loofah. this will help with the body acne as you clean off the dry dead skin. always lotion after yr shower to keep skin moisturized. also for acne, use products that have salicylic acid - it helps to exfoliate.

i normally have oily skin on my face, but when the cold air hits, it get dried out, so i switched to a milder cleanser. i use the clinique 3 step #2 for combo/dry skin. it's awesome. it give you a cleanser, toner and moisturizer."

Nikki replied: "Maybe you just need to shower more...and are you stressed? Maybe you need to relax and do some stress-free activities"

i've had the SAME problem. if your skin is dry, washing it repeatedly will only make it worse. -- and putting lotion on it makes it break out (at least that was how it worked for me)

Honestly heres what has worked for me, a prodoct called Natures Cure (but only a month at a time - it stops working after prolonged use) and also ProActive works but again, only a month at a time.

Natures Cure is cheap - like $8 and its pills and cream

and Proactive is expensive ecspessially if you dont want to join thier little "club" where they send it to you every month.

I buy mine off of ebay - people selling it for cheaper

One last thing that has helped my face DRASTICLY is mineral makeup. i really think that wearing it has helped my skin.

i buy off brands of BareMinerals and they work like a charm and are really good for your skin.

Try using peroxcide on your face, back, and arms.

And if you feel like you need to wash your face alot, alternate between regular cleansers and ones with acne medication...

and only use the same acne cleanser for a week at a time, switch them up. you skin becomes accustom to the ingredients...
switch between sasylic acide and byenol peroxide (bad spelling there)

hope this helped."

Does anyone know a good cleanser for sensitive, acne prone, oily skin other than neutrogena? I am just so fed up with my skin right now!!! I was using neutrogena oil-free acne wash but that stuff dried up my skin so horribly bad. Now I am using clearasil ultra but its still drying for me. I also use the Neutrogena oil-free moisture spf 15 but it makes me break out, and its way too greasy! Please someone help me to find a good cleanser that wont strip my skin. And also a good moisturizer that doesn't have any vitamins in it or anything. I'm not ever going to use neutrogena again though because of bad experiences. Thanks people!

Jo replied: "I find that Clinique is wonderful. They have 4 different levels to choose from pending on your skin type. Such as my skin has both its oily and dry flaky spots. They also sell scrubs, moisturizer, wash, etc. for each lvl. Unfortunately it is somewhat expensive. I hope it helps!"

Olay is one of the oldest brands of skincare products- it used to be called Oil of Ulan and is still a top seller. It is the brand used by the older women I know who have withstood the test of time best, some of the women who have used the same routine with different brands look like harridans at 40!"

Vitamins For Acne Control

Has anyone used Accutane for acne control? I read that Accutane is often prescribed by dermatologists for acne. Most times they prescribe an anti-bacterial, but it also said vitamin A - Accutane - as well.
Has anyone ever used it? If so, is it something that can be bought at local stores in the vitamin section, or is it specially prescribed? Any side effects?
Thanks for any info!

Birth Control for acne, pros and cons? i have bad acne before and after my period. i've tried proactiv and all the other brands pretty much. I've even tried home remedies and taking vitamins and such. nothing seems to control my acne. i heard from friends that the birth control helped alot. my mom thinks birth control is something i shouldn't try. i'm 16, by the way.

i'm just looking for all possible pros and cons that i might get if i went on birth control.
also, if you have taken any birth control that helped your acne due to your period.

Your roommate has been taking the antibiotic tetracycline for 2 years to control her acne. ? While having routine blood work, it is revealed that she has a vitamin deficiency. Which of the following is an adequate explanation for her vitamin deficiency?

a. antibiotics kill the normal flora (resident bacteria) of the intestinal tract which is responsible for synthesizing certain vitamins
b. None of these are adequate explanations.
c. antibiotics can bind to vitamins in the intestinal tract and prevent their absorption
d. taking antibiotics for extended periods of time slows down metabolism

How do I get rid of or at least control the acne on my face? I have a lot of blackheads on my nose and chin and some blackheads on my cheeks and forehead. Also I have a lot of little bumps all over my forehead. Sometimes I get humongous pimples on my face and back that take forever to heal. My forehead is oily because of my bangs and the rest of my face is dry. I know as a teenager that I'll ve acne on my face, chest and back, but that doesn't mean I want it.
What's the best treatment?
Right now I'm using Noxzema Long Lasting Micro bead Cleanser, but it doesn't work and for a moisturizer I use Avalon Organics Vitamin C Oil-Free moisturizer which I love.
There are a few things I should mention:
1. I'm really poor
2. I don't shop at Walmart
3. I'm not going to buy proactive
4. I would like to use a water soluble cleaner, not facial wipes or pads
5. I don't have insurance so I'm not going to go to a dermatologist
6. I'm a pretty healthy eater and I drink lots of water

Do acne and acne scars eventually go away with birth control? I've always had a bit of acne, and I started using ProActiv (which works wonderfully, by the way - leaves my skin feeling very clean and refreshed) and it did clear up noticeably in the time between my periods. Several days before my period I would get annoying zits (the deep kind that hurt to touch), but nothing too bad. I'm in high school - everyone gets acne, right, so what do I care about a couple of zits?
However, I've always had moderate acne on my chest and back. Just small ones on my chest that aren't really noticeable, they're just small bumps with no noticeable redness, and on my back I'd get a mixture of those with big zits.
I started taking Yasmin28 about three weeks ago, and since I began the acne on my face has been getting a lot worse. Generally I would get zits on my chin and forehead, but since I began taking the pill I've been getting acne in places where I've NEVER gotten it before - my cheeks, just under my jaw, sometimes even my thighs.
It wouldn't be a huge deal to me if they just went away, but they don't. Regardless of whether I pick them or not, they leave red or relatively dark, discoloured marks that don't go away for what feels like forever. I still have some scattered along my chin from when I first started getting acne a few years ago! I'm not sure if those count as scars, though, so I don't know if I want to try any Vitamin E oil or cocoa butter (I've been told that helps) because I'm scared that will clog my pores and make me break out even more.
I keep hearing that, with birth control, acne gets worse before it gets better, but I'd really like an idea of how long this will take. One girl told me it takes six months, but in other places I'm hearing 2-3 months tops if my acne wasn't severe before starting the pill.
And I really just feel like I can't win lately when I wash my face. Wherever I focus on washing (wherever my acne is worst at the time) I start to get zits elsewhere as if to make up for it. >.< For example, if I focus on washing my T-zone, I get acne on my cheeks. It's really annoying. And I don't want to take any antibiotics to help it, because I need my birth control to be as effective as possible.
Any help is intensely appreciated!

lucy replied: "3 weeks is not long enough to decide if Yasmin is working for you or not. I would wait at least 3 or 4 months and if you still haven't seen any improvement you can try switching to another pill. Ortho Tri-Cyclen is supposed to work well for acne."

is it bad to go on birth control for acne? im 15 years old and I have had acne on my chest, back, and shoulders (but never on my face) for about a year now and it seems like its never going to go away. I tried an antibiotic called Doxycycline for about 2 months but it had no effect on my acne. I also use Neutrogena's acne body wash. it helps to remove excess oils but it doesn't really get rid of the zits. in addition to that, i take Rainbowlight active teen multivitamins that is supposed to clear acne. i take three a day. (thats the max amount you can take daily) if i dont forget to take my vitamins every day then i have no acne on my chest but if i forget then the next day im completely broken out. the vitamins have no effect on my back or shoulders though and i dont have a clue why. so i have been questioning if i should take birth control. it would be nice to have the pill for cramps, bloating and a shorter period too but i mostly want it for acne. any advice?

mzboyd15 replied: "I went on the pill when I was 15 for my acne. Totally cleared my skin and it helped with the cramps. It's also very nice to know exactly when you are going to get your period. I would definitely suggest it!"

wut replied: "no its fine, my sister used to have horrible acne and she never knew when her period would come and her period would last for ever and it would be painful and it helped her out"

Banana Blitz replied: "The other two have had success and that is great but DEFINETLY do LOTS of research on this. Certain birth control pills can be fatal that is why a number of them have been pulled off the market. Talk to your parents as well before taking something high risk as that."

Is it okay to take pre-natal vitamins while on birth control? I have been on the depo shot for almost two years, and I have recently started taking pre-natal vitamins (as a vegetarian diet supplement). Is this okay to do? I have only noticed breakouts and acne so far..

Law & Order: Intarwebz Unit 2.0 replied: "Yes, it's safe. Pre-natal vitamins contain all of the same minerals as regular vitamins do, just in slightly different (usually larger) doses. There's no reason to believe that it would react negatively with birth control, at least any more than a regular vitamin would. Pre-natal vitamins are probably your best bet if you're on a vegetarian diet, so I'd keep taking them. A lot of doctors will actually recommend them for reasons other than pregnancy, because of all the nutrients they contain.

Make sure you eat a lot of bran and dark green veggies to keep your iron levels up."

Juice Plus - U gotta Try It! replied: "I recommend Juice Plus as it is 17 different fruits and veggies juiced, then the water gets taken out, so only the nutrients are left. Then just the nutrients are powderized and put into a capsule. So, it's kind of like you are eating 17 different fruits and veggies right off the get-go when you start your day. To me, and thousands of others and hundreds of doctors, Juice Plus is a much better choice than Vitamins as you get the nutrients directly from the fruits and veggies, rather than in a supplement form. Acne, new birth control, fish oil, flaxseed....help!? Hi,
well, I have had pretty good skin for awhile now. I had trouble with breakouts (cystic at times), some blackheads, whiteheads, etc. when I was in high school (about 3-4 years ago). My dermotologist put me on Differin Gel and it worked really well. Since then, skins been great, I don't even need to use the Differin all the time, just once or twice a week. Around my period every month i might get a a few pimples but nothing too big or bad. I even went for months recently without having to buy a new concealer after I ran out because I didn't need it! My skin was great!
Now...out of NO WHERE...i've been breaking out. Lots of smaller pimples, and now just yesterday ive started developing a big cystic one on my forehead. As a result of the earlier acne, 2 weeks ago I bought some concealer/powder that is oil free and I used to use in the past. I havent been using it too much but obviously more than I have in a long time. I know this could be the cause of the acne, but i don't think so, my skin has never been sensitive to oil free makeup and i don't use it in excess and I rinse it off at night/when I get home.
SOOOO....there are a few other culprits. I started birth control for the first time in maybe a year about 3 mos ago. It has been like 2 years since I was on it for a long period of time. It's Yaz birth control and its been ok. My period is always nuts...esp. on birth control for the first few (up to 6) months. It will do what it wants...AKA come when it was supposed to (before I was on BC) and then keep coming when I start taking the placebo pills, so this month I've had my period for like 10 days. My doc says its ok as long as it regulates in a few months.
Buuuut...birth control is supposed to help/stop acne! Not cause MORE!
One other thing might be the vitamins ive been taking. Ive been taking this Heart Healthy Pack for like 6 months now...it contains: a fishoil capsule, a flaxseed capsule, vitamin B complex, vitamin E, and COQ10 enzyme. I also take 2 capsules of milk thistle a day. I more recently (but at least a month ago) started adding another fish oil capsule on in the evening because i found out i was only taking half the reccomended amount to help hair, nails, and skin.
I think the only possible things contributing to acne could be the birth control, the extra fish oil (but ive researched and found NOTHING that says fish oil can cause acne, only help skin), or the milk thistle (but i researched that and there are no reports of milk thistle effecting the skin at all).
Sooo this is long and I doubt anyone will take the time to read it...but I need help! Has anyone gotten acne from birth control...especially yaz? Or from fish oil, milk thistle, or flaxseed??
Helpppp.

Helen N replied: "What's happening is the breakouts are hormonal. The Birth control is supposed to regulate your periods and therefore your hormones. But you're also taking all these vitamins for a longer time frame already. Now your body does not know what it's supposed to do with so much you're taking.

Try this: Cut out milk and dairy products from your diet. Eat a low carb like little sugar as possible. No white rice, stick to brown rice and wheat bread. Eat grilled chicken, baked fish as little fried foods as possible.

Cutting out these foods will make you less hormonal. By eating better, it will make your skin better.

Also how late are you sleeping? Sleep early as possible, before 12am. Sleeping late causes havoc on your skin too.

I had acne while on Yaz and I was taking Multi vitamin everyday. And I had the cystic acne.

It was until my dermatologist told me to sleep early, and eat better, that I saw the acne go away. It took about 2 weeks to see results.

If the cystic acne is really bad and painful go to your dermatologist. Get a cortisone shot to heal the acne quick. Good luck!"

I have cystic acne which I have only been able to control using Doxycyline. Anything elses I can try? Doxycycline is an antibiotic that's given for acne. Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:

1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.

There is a great website: that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me."

Vitamins For Acne Skin

What vitamins are good for acne-prone skin? What daily vitamin do you recommend to take if I have acne prone skin? I would like to reduce the acne, and I also have dry skin sometimes. So, I guess what I'm saying is that I would like to find a vitamin that could help with reducing acne, and just be all around good for skin to make it healthy & stuff. Thanks.

____ replied: "i dont think vitamins have anything to do with acne."

May replied: "Zinc is proven to heal acne, so you should take some everyday. It can be from vitamin pills or from food. The other vitamins are good for health and skin, but zinc is good for it's properties. If you currently have outbreaks and zits all over, you may use zinc supplements to alleviate what you are going through. Zinc can help heal your blemishes, reduce the inflammation, and reduce the androgenic effect of hormones on your skin. Thus, if you want your pimples to heal faster, taking some zinc supplements may be a good idea."

Angel G replied: "Yeah its not the vitamins you take its the foods you put in. You must stay away from sweets. Vitamins C and E will help though. But better than spending money on vitamins C and E buy oranges and eat them twice a day. Unfortunealy I forget what foods give you vitamin E. As to dry skin 1. Drink your 8 glasses of water per day. Buy the ALOE leaf from the supermarket, wash outside, cut section off, open and apply the slimy/jelly to your face let dry then wash off really, really well(this is the natural way to do it). Good luck."

beauty gal replied: "1. Intake of Vitamin A, C, and E. Vitamin E is a natural antioxidant that would help the body get rid of unwanted free radicals. Free radicals are foreign particles that result from exposure to air pollution, peroxides and radiation. A better alternative is alpha-tocopheral which is a potent form of Vitamin E. Vitamins A and C, on the other hand, help regenerate skin cells. These combines would allow your acne scars to heal faster. These vitamins can be derived from their natural sources, or from widely-available supplements.

2. Intake of collagen supplements. Collagen supplements stimulate the body's production of collagen. Collagen is an insoluble fibrous protein that expedites the repair of dead tissues and skin cells. As with the vitamins enumerated above, collagen would also help your acne scars heal at a faster rate. Collagen supplements come in ointments, or through laser technology using soft, red light.

3. Good skin care. Acne scars can heal naturally, minus other intervening conditions like diabetes or some form of skin disease. Healing time is estimated at 6 to 12 months. The important thing to remember as you wait for your acne scars to heal is that you shouldn't do anything that would aggravate the situation. Proper skin care can help your acne scars heal properly, and perhaps even faster.

alamahara replied: "You should be really careful here. Have you talked to your doctor about vitamin therapy. You could be taking too much or be mixing ones that you shouldn't.

Acne is typically an issue caused by hormones and bacteria. Both a bad combo. Nutrition usually has nothing to do with it. I think you would do better using an over the counter product or visiting a dermatologist."

fender_199_1999 replied: "I feel your pain and I can help you. But you have to follow this to a T.
I had terrible acne. Pimples on top of pimples on top of pimples for years. I tried every over the counter product and I tried half of the ones that doctors precribed and none of them did anything but make my skin super dry. The pimples still came through.

After years of dealing with it I finally developed a way to battle this on my own.
Here is the deal.

Acne is not due to any 1 certain thing. Its a condition of multiple things going wrong at the same time. Below I will describe all of these things and how they make your acne flare up. But it is important to remember that you need to correct as many of them as possible. If you correct all of them exept 2 your will still have bouts with acne. You have to correct all of them... and then keep them corrected.

*Stress, Fretting, and Selfconsciousness
This can be one of the worst things to change. Mainly for the fact that there is a cycle here. You get acne and you stress and feel subconscious.
Stress is not just a psychological thing. Its physiological too.
When a dog chases you, your body has a chemical rush.. the flight or flight phenomenon. Your body releases a RUSH of chemicals in order for you to manage the situation and survive.
Stress is "chemically" very much the same as the adrenaline rush that you feel. A dog chasing you causes you stress... so you get that Rush of chemicals. However, when you stress about things such as homework, your car insurance, and your acne... there isn't really an immediate need for the chemicals. Rather than RUSHING out... the chemicals leak out... they seep out.
This seeping consists of a LOT of chemicals, and these chemicals in turn trigger a lot of other chemicals.
It may not sound like a big deal, but if your body is constantly locked in a mode of mild aggitation it can cause serious problems. Not just acne, but after prolonged periods you may develop heart problems, increased risk of cancer and stroke.
To come full circle... the slow steady aggitation of stress will cause an excess of body chemicals that normally shouldn't be there. This will lead to increased Acne.

*Diet
I could go on about diet forever. However, I think this is a quite obvious cause of Acne so I'll keep it short. If you eat like a disgusting human being, you are going to look like a disgusting human being. Its as simple as that.
You really need to do your best to elimanate fats, soda, candy, sugar, potatoe chips, white bread, cheese, ice cream, chocolate, salt, and fast food from your diet. Not only do you need to eliminate these things, you need to replace them with LOADS of water, veggies, fruits, nuts, whole grain bread, whole wheat bread.
One other thing you might not realize is that anything that is easy to cook is terrible for you. You need to try to avoid canned foods, boxed foods, and freezer foods. If its fast and easy its deadly and it will flare your acne.

*Clenliness
Clenliness is pretty obvious too. And I don't doubt that you are a clean person. When I talk about clenliness what I am referring to is the little things that you might not realize.
For instance... you go to school. You touch the railing on the way up the stairs. You touch the doorknob to the classroom. You touch your desk and your pencil that has never been cleaned in its lifetime. Your hand sweats. You reach up to wipe the hair out of your face or scratch your nose and what have you done?
You've just scratched, pressed, wiped and streaked about 50 varieties of bacteria into the pores of your face. Who would love nothing more than to find a warm greasy nutrient filled little hole to make their babies in.
I know you are a clean person.. but you need to become aware of these sorts of mishaps.
Carry a travel bottle of hand sanitizer with you in your bookbag, in your car and at home on your desk. Whenever you touch a doorknob, your keyboard, your steering wheel, or whatever, just make a tiny mental note that your hands are dirty. As soon as you have time, give those babies an alcohol bath and suffer those little germies.
Warning... don't go overboard and go germ crazy. You can't kill them all :)

*Drinking/Drugs Unhealthy behavior
I like to have some beer and wine. But the idea here is moderation. If you have 2-3 beers you aren't going to be breaking out because of it. However if you have 2-3 beers every night for 3 nights in a row.. you might start to notice a difference in your complexion.
Have fun... enjoy yourself... but learn to moderate beer/marijuana/etc.
Remember that alcohol is a poison. If your body is trying to clean your system of poisons... it has that much less manpower to fight the bacteria growing in your pores.

*Colds or other illness
When you get a cold, or you have the stomach flu, your body goes into damage mode. It'll likely put the small infections such as your acne on hold in order to fight the larger infections.... such as the bacteria in your stomach that are trying to kill you.
This is also why some people get fever blisters when they get sick. Normally the body is keeping the virus at bay... but when they get sick the immune system gets a bit overloaded and has to prioritize.
Unfortunately, Acne is one of the least priorities on the list.
If you get sick... you are likely to have an outbreak.

*Sunlight
Sunlight is full of UV rays... UV rays are bad for your skin if you get too many right? Well for that very same reason they are VERY deadly to microorganisms.
UV rays scramble the germs DNA and they cease to function and die.
What I'm trying to stress here is that Emo kids who lock themselves in the basement and sit in front of the computer don't have this added advantage. Don't go nuke yourself in a tanning bed, but try to get outside and take a little jog... or just hang out in the back yard for a little bit.
Get out and get a little bit of sun. I swear it helps!

*Exercise and Sweating
Exercise activates all sorts of your body's good chemical processes. It increases the blood flow which will increase the rate at which immune cells, nutrients and antibodies reach the tiny capillaries of your face.
In addition to this you sweat. Sweat comes out of your pores... right!? Its a good deal.
I noticed that if I would have a good workout at the gym and then sit in the steam room for 20 minutes until I was dripping sweat my acne decreased dramatically in the following days.

*Irritation
By irritation I mainly mean harsh chemicals and harsh scrubbing. Your skin doesn't like to be plastered with chemical compounds and then grated to death with an abrasive pad. Also, harsh alcohol products such as Clearasil are terrible. They do little to help.
If you want to clean your face go to Wal-mart and get a 2 dollar bottle of Equate daily face wash. When you go to bed and when you get up... or during the day when you realize that you are extra greasy just do a "light" wash of your face to get rid of the excess grease and dirt. The soap is a polar molecule and it binds to tiny dirt particles. When you rinse the dirt goes with the soap. Don't scrub... just let the bubbles and water do its work. Then dab with a "clean" towel.
Used towels and wash rags have 400 times more bacteria than a keyboard and 600 times more than your toilet seat.

*Thinking about the Acne
I really have nothing to back this one up other than I KNOW with my heart and soul that its true.
If you have acne and you think think think think think think think think about it... it'll get confident and want to take over your whole face. I don't know why this is... i think its kinda like the stress thing. If you have a pimple and you think about it. Its bound to get worse.

*Age and Hormones
I put this one last because its the only one of these things that is out of our control.
There are only a few times in a persons life when we have HUGE amounts of hormones and chemicals racing through us.
Birth to 3 years old.
Adolescence to about 23 years old.
Pregnancy
Menopause.
During these times you will see a marked increase in acne and there is little you can do about it but wait.

I know I have been long winded... but this took me 15 years to fomulate. It'll work... I swear by it.
The only problem is trying to do all of these things at once and keep it going. Many times I would do these things and my face would clear up and I would be like "yey!" and I would start to slack off. Every time it would come back with a vengance.

Follow these rules as much as you can and keep them going. Don't stop!

There are two more things I'd like to say.

Acne has a lag to it. So say you go out friday and Saturday and drink and party and eat fried chicken and lose all sorts of sleep.
Sunday you might be as clear as a bell... but on Tuesday your face will look like someone set fire to it and put it out with an ice pick. This is one of the reasons its hard to detect exactly what causes your acne.... because it comes 3 days after the cause.

Invest in a pack of needles. Rather than squeeze and press and ravage your pimples and make them explode out... nick the top layer of skin that is holding the pus in and then apply pressure. You'll cause much less damage this way and you can even get to those really deep pimples that won't come to the surface for another couple of days.

I hope this helps. I'm sorry Its so long winded.
I am rooting for you! I have been there!"

I have found this product to be very good. It's mostly natural with a great deal of vitamins and nutrients. It's called:Rosehip Whip Moisturizer. It's by the company called Eminence Handmade Organic from Hungary. it really helps to calm the skin. Here is a link to the site. Page down to see the product called ROSEHIP WHIP MOISTURIZER. Philosophy has a line for acne proned skin but its 35 dollars an ounce and pro-active works much better. I have the same skin as you have described. I have used everything and i would suggest you just get an oi-free,non-comedogenic moisturizer 2x a day. I have yet to find a moisturizer or great vitamin serum.I will tell you though you need to drink a gallon of water a day.I have been doing this(dermatologist recommended) for about 40 days now and my skin has become so much of a better texture,it would be dry but oily and just dull, now it glows.Of course a good skin regimen is good. You should cleanse 2x a day, then use a toner and moisturizer. This process works for me ,try the water too it makes a huge difference."

facials7 replied: "The more natural the product the better. I mean, really understand and look at the label of ingredents. Look for alpha lipoic acid...a form of vit c. For dullness, make sure you are exfoliating the skin 2 times a week. A mask also helps, a clay based mask draws out toxins, giving you clearer skin..."

bellyray replied: "Hi ,

I totally understand your desire for wanting high quality skin care! I felt the same way and I've been blessed with an amazing company called Arbonne International! I loved the products and the results so much that I decided to come on as a skin care consultant. Arbonne International was founded in 1980. At Arbonne, we want people to look great and feel great by incorporating premium products based on herbal and botanical ingredients into their daily lives. Arbonne products are all about your overall health and wellness.

Arbonne is also a people business. It's about empowering yourself and others. With Arbonne, a person has a vehicle to bring to light the success they deserve.

We have an amazing SELF-ADJUSTING skin care line called Arbonne Intelligence line. It is a 5-Step skin care regimen, Step one is Arbonne Intelligence Daily Cleanser, which is pH correct, non-drying, protects the moisture barrier, does not disrupt the acid mantle, and is critical to the healthy start of a skin care regimen.

Step two is the Arbonne Intelligence Exfoliating Mask with Thermal Fusion, which incorporates the deep cleansing abilities of clay masques along with scrubs both chemically and mechanically along with thermal fusion. What you get from this product is perfectly cleansed skin and perfectly healthy pink tone from cell exfoliation.

The third step is the Arbonne Intelligence Daily Balancer. Again our Toner and Freshener create the perfect balance. Incorporating blue copper, a trace mineral that significantly increases the visible firmness of the skin. This is very important to a skin care regimen, to set up the proper balance to apply the moisturizer on.

We have Arbonne Intelligence Daily Eye Cream. You can’t forget the eye cream, this is the one area that we show aging at the earliest stage simply because of repetitive movements. It’s the personality that gives us age, every time we smile; those repetitive movements create fine lines and wrinkles around our eyes. You must incorporate a great eye cream on a daily basis.
Step five is the Arbonne Intelligence Daily Moisturizing Cream, for day and for night, it is again, a self-adjusting delivery system that works for both day and night to protect against transdermal water loss. All of this incorporates the herbs and botanicals, which Arbonne was founded on.

Arbonne Intelligence … not-so-basic skin care™

It is an incredible system of products, it’s simplified, it’s self-adjusting, and it’s truly intelligent

Key elements found throughout the Arbonne Intelligence self-adjusting formulations:

BIO-HYDRIAВ® COMPLEX
Arbonne’s proprietary blend of 7 concen-trated botanicals, including: Comfrey Root Extract, Cucumber Extract, Birch Leaf Extract, Watercress Extract, Clover Blossom Extract, Ginseng Extract and St. John’s wort. Toge-ther, these ingredients soften, cool, soothe, condition and normalize skin’s pH. The Cucumber and Birch Leaf extracts also add astringent properties to the formulation.

BLUE COPPER
Known to enhance skin clarity, Blue Copper helps to hydrate skin — without the shine. It also helps to protect against free radical damage.

ZINC
Zinc has been found to play a key role in promoting collagen synthesis in the dermis layer of the skin. It is also known for lowering sebaceous secretion which is beneficial in controlling oily skin.

PAPAIN
An enzyme found at its purest in green papaya, helps to gently dissolve dead surface skin cells without harming healthy ones. Papain from green, un-ripened fruit is 15 to 100 times stronger than other forms of papain at exfoliation.

ALPHA HYDROXY ACIDS
Fruit acids that are beneficial in exfolia-ting and rejuvenating skin. In addition to exfoliating, they play a role in keeping skin moist and supple.

LYSATE EXTRACT
A soothing, anti-irritant with de-puffing benefits.

THERMAL FUSION TECHNOLOGY
A revolutionary skin care technology that combines heat and water to optimize penetration of enzymes and prolongs their effectiveness. Arbonne’s proprietary skin care innovation stimulates circulation, penetration and enzyme activity for up to 45 minutes.

PHOSPHOLIPIDS
These are beneficial moisturizers, because of their ability to attract and hold water. They are extremely compatible with human skin lipids.

I want the very best results for you! I encourage you to contact me at. I hope my recommendations helped you! Start making the difference in your skin today!

Take Care..."

What is the best skincare product for acne prone skin? I've tried ProActiv and it just worsen my acne condition :( Right now I'm using the Himalaya Herbals products but my acne is still there. What is THE best skincare product (brand) for acne prone skin? Should I take vitamins? Help me, please. Thanks!

Taylor replied: "definitely take vitamins!
and drink at least 8 glasses of water a day
watch what you eat too
they say diet doesn't effect acne but i noticed a big difference when i went on a "healthy diet"
where i cut out junk food and ate a lot healthier
i would suggest going to a dermatologist
but i prefer neutrogena for face wash,
it seems to work the best
but i also tried the clean and clear advantage kit (like poractiv)
and it worked but i had to be very patient
good luck!"

Remedies/ vitamins/ natural ways to help skin (acne, luminosity, etc)? I was wondering if anyone knew of any natural ways to benefit skin. I was hoping to find something natural to help with acne because I can't find anything over the counter that works. I'd like to avoid a skin doc if I can. I've tried vit e and exposure to natural sunlight. I heard both helped but I didn't see any difference. In fact, after taking a nutrition class in my college, I realized I was taking like 3300% the daily recommended value of vit e and it doesn't even have benefits for your skin! Can someone think of an herbal product or food or something I can try? Right now, I'd be willing to try just about anything.

marshmellow_gardener replied: "You'd be willing to try anything, hmm...?
Well acne (just like every other physical ailment) happens for a reason. It can be a warning sign, or (since it doesn't ever go away I'm assuming) there's a serious emotional/mental problem you have. If you're really serious about trying "anything" to heal yourself-well then heal yourself as a whole. Look deep into yourself to find what is really causing this acne problem-emotionally. What issues do yo have with yourself, if any that you can think of?"

oldtimekid2 replied: "One thing you can do is to take a 400 IU softgel of Vitamin E, then CAREFULLY poke a hole in it. Squeeze out the oil and spread it out evenly onto the affected area. If you have more than one area that's been affected, spread out the amount that's used evenly to each area, as too much vitamin E can build up to toxic levels in your body.
Swallowing Vitamin E doesn't help as much for your skin as applying it topically... but it still helps. You can also try putting Aloe Vera on to soothe the tissue.

Also, if you would like more benefits, there are some supplements you could take internally to help the health of your skin. Some of the most popular ones are Biotin, Silica (commonly from Horsetail), Squalene, Hyaluronic Acid, MSM, L-Cysteine, Collagen, and most antioxidants.
Good luck!"

Cassie replied: "One of the best ways I think, its to drink A LOT of water, and to eat lots of fruits and vegetables."

Tenaru replied: "You need to fix the problem from the inside out.Try taking some transfer factor for a few months and it should all clear up.It will also help your immune system to fight off colds and flu.A wonderful thing.100% natural ,non toxic and fixes the problem from inside.Email for more info"

minx replied: "Hey there buddy ♥ What i've found to work the best on my skin is to cleanse with a sensitive skin type cleanser such as Cetaphil morning and night and once every 2 or 3 days i'll mix 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda with the cetaphil in my hand and cleanse as usual then rinse off with warm water ♥

When i have an outbreak of pimples or blemishes i simply do the baking soda cleanse concentrating on the problem areas and it works a treat ........ you'll find the blemishes become a lot less noticeable almost immediately.

The baking soda cleanser mix is good for purifying your skin and cleansing it of built up oils and dirt. It realkalises the ph level of your skin and gives it a rosy glow......... after cleansing put 1 - 2 tablespoons of white vinegar into a cup of water and mix up. Dip a cotton ball into the vinegar mix, squeeze the excess moisture from it and dab over your skin ... as you would a toner to close your pores and finish the job..... being carefull of course not to use it on any broken skin or it will sting..... then rub a small amount of extra virgin olive oil onto your skin as a moisturiser........... everybody needs a little bit of moisture on their skin and cold pressed (no trans fatty acids) extra virgin olive oil is brilliant for nourishing & feeding your skin ♥

No chemicals or other nasties to upset sensitive little bodies either.

Eat plenty of antioxidant rich foods ie ~ foods rich in Vitamins A, C, E and selenium, zinc and foods rich in EFA'S.

ie ~ Vitamin A ~ liver, dark green and yellow vegies, carotts, pumpkin and yellow fruits;

Without enough Vitamin A in your system no amount of potions or lotion will ever give you that rosy glow.

Vitamin C ~ citrus fruits such as lemons, limes and oranges, strawberries and blackberries, leafy and green vegies, red and green peppers and tomatoes and potatoes.

Vitamin C extends life by enabling protein cells to bind together.

Vitamin E ~ wheat germ, vegetable oils (olive oil), nuts, leafy and green vegies, spinach broccoli, whole wheat, whole grain cereals and eggs.

vitamin E will keep you looking younger by retarding cellular aging due to oxidation (by plumping out those lines and extending the life of your cells).

Selenium ~ seafood, liver, wheat germ, bran, tuna fish, onions, tomatoes, broccoli, garlic and brown rice.

Selenium works in tandem with vitamin E thus they increase each others potency. selenium is another antioxidant that will slow the aging process for you.

Zinc ~ essential for protein synthesis and collagen formation.

foods rich in zinc are ~ meat, liver, seafood (especially oysters), wheat germ, pumpkin seeds, eggs and ground mustard.

Pump up your fresh filtered water intake on a daily basis too to hydrate your body properly and plump up your skin and maintain your health, youth and vitality...... you need at least 2 - 3 litres of water per day. Geez, we need at 2 litres daily just to maintain aspiration (to breath!!)........... :0)

Try to ditch all the junky and prepackaged foods and sodas and soft drinks as these will only serve to stress your system and at any rate have next to no nutritional value anyway ♥

Also try to cut back on dehydrating drinks such as coffee, tea and alcohol (if you drink any) as not only will they dehydrate you but they will also rob you of your precious B complex of vitamins ♥

take care of you & hope i helped a bit ♥

CHEERS
♥"

orangie replied: "One thing is drink lots of water, stay away from fried foods if you can. I know we all consume it, but try to eat less of it. Soap dries out your face. Get a soap that helps with the skin. Warm water when washing your face. Change your diet and that might help as well. Try to stay stress fee, take sometime to relax about 20 minutes a day, and rid yourself of all things that are on your plate for that time. Garlic is another natural source for you diet and healthy as well. Good Luck, Protect yourself from the sun as well. We all need the sun but too much sun is not good either."

private replied: "I've tried just about everything for my acne. In January while getting a facial it was recommended to me that I try taking Evening Primrose Oil. Over the past 3 months my breakouts have basically stopped aside from an occasional pimple. Amazing. Some of my friends have started taking it as well. I wish someone told me ten years ago!"

Pour Some Sugar On ME replied: "I love Red Wine Extract (reservatrol) it totally makes my skin glow. Also I take Beta Carotene and hair and skin vitamins.

Bio oil is great for acne scars and dark spots.

Tea Tree Oil (melaleuca) is helpful for acne.

Shitake mushroom extract is supposed to help to firm the skin.

And a diet rich in good fats (like those found in salmon, tuna, mackerel, pistachios, almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, etc) and antioxidants really really helps. Eating lots of dark colored fruits and veggies like black beans, blueberries, dark red tomatoes, red grapes, blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, kidney beans, dark red apples, plums, spinach, green tea, blood oranges, red wine, etc really helps your skin.

Getting good rest helps a lot!

And sunshine is your friend if you tan.

Use topical vitamin E. And retinols. Glycolic acid helps to slough and smooth skin. And lactic acid (like in yogurt or milk masks) and AHA's help to refine, exfoliate and beautify skin. Caffiene firms skin. Grapeseed oil and grape extracts are great antioxidants that make skin look younger and more brilliant (like Red Wine extract does).

It really helps to take a two-fold approach, transform from the inside out! Taking vitamins and using topical naturals.

Of course you probably know about the benefits of drinking water and green tea. And how exercise is awesome for the skin.

And just simple hot steam treatments really help my face to clear up."
