What vitamins are good for acne-prone skin? What daily vitamin do you recommend to take if I have acne prone skin? I would like to reduce the acne, and I also have dry skin sometimes. So, I guess what I'm saying is that I would like to find a vitamin that could help with reducing acne, and just be all around good for skin to make it healthy & stuff. Thanks.

May replied: "Zinc is proven to heal acne, so you should take some everyday. It can be from vitamin pills or from food. The other vitamins are good for health and skin, but zinc is good for it's properties. If you currently have outbreaks and zits all over, you may use zinc supplements to alleviate what you are going through. Zinc can help heal your blemishes, reduce the inflammation, and reduce the androgenic effect of hormones on your skin. Thus, if you want your pimples to heal faster, taking some zinc supplements may be a good idea."
Angel G replied: "Yeah its not the vitamins you take its the foods you put in. You must stay away from sweets. Vitamins C and E will help though. But better than spending money on vitamins C and E buy oranges and eat them twice a day. Unfortunealy I forget what foods give you vitamin E. As to dry skin 1. Drink your 8 glasses of water per day. Buy the ALOE leaf from the supermarket, wash outside, cut section off, open and apply the slimy/jelly to your face let dry then wash off really, really well(this is the natural way to do it). Good luck."
beauty gal replied: "1. Intake of Vitamin A, C, and E. Vitamin E is a natural antioxidant that would help the body get rid of unwanted free radicals. Free radicals are foreign particles that result from exposure to air pollution, peroxides and radiation. A better alternative is alpha-tocopheral which is a potent form of Vitamin E. Vitamins A and C, on the other hand, help regenerate skin cells. These combines would allow your acne scars to heal faster. These vitamins can be derived from their natural sources, or from widely-available supplements.
2. Intake of collagen supplements. Collagen supplements stimulate the body's production of collagen. Collagen is an insoluble fibrous protein that expedites the repair of dead tissues and skin cells. As with the vitamins enumerated above, collagen would also help your acne scars heal at a faster rate. Collagen supplements come in ointments, or through laser technology using soft, red light.
3. Good skin care. Acne scars can heal naturally, minus other intervening conditions like diabetes or some form of skin disease. Healing time is estimated at 6 to 12 months. The important thing to remember as you wait for your acne scars to heal is that you shouldn't do anything that would aggravate the situation. Proper skin care can help your acne scars heal properly, and perhaps even faster.

What is the best skincare product for acne prone skin? I' tried ProActiv and it just worsen my acne condition :( Right now I'm using the Himalaya Herbals products but my acne is still there. What is THE best skincare product (brand) for acne prone skin? Should I take vitamins? Help me, please. Thanks!
Taylor replied: "definitely take vitamins!
and drink at least 8 glasses of water a day
watch what you eat too
they say diet doesn't effect acne but i noticed a big difference when i went on a "healthy diet"
where i cut out junk food and ate a lot healthier
i would suggest going to a dermatologist
but i prefer neutrogena for face wash,
it seems to work the best
but i also tried the clean and clear advantage kit (like poractiv)
and it worked but i had to be very patient
good luck!"

Philosophy has a line for acne proned skin but its 35 dollars an ounce and pro-active works much better. I have the same skin as you have described. I have used everything and i would suggest you just get an oi-free,non-comedogenic moisturizer 2x a day. I have yet to find a moisturizer or great vitamin serum.I will tell you though you need to drink a gallon of water a day.I have been doing this(dermatologist recommended) for about 40 days now and my skin has become so much of a better texture,it would be dry but oily and just dull, now it glows.Of course a good skin regimen is good. You should cleanse 2x a day, then use a toner and moisturizer. This process works for me ,try the water too it makes a huge difference."

For dullness, make sure you are exfoliating the skin 2 times a week. A mask also helps, a clay based mask draws out toxins, giving you clearer skin..."

bellyray replied: "Hi ,
I totally understand your desire for wanting high quality skin care! I felt the same way and I've been blessed with an amazing company called Arbonne International! I loved the products and the results so much that I decided to come on as a skin care consultant. Arbonne International was founded in 1980. At Arbonne, we want people to look great and feel great by incorporating premium products based on herbal and botanical ingredients into their daily lives. Arbonne products are all about your overall health and wellness.
Arbonne is also a people business. It's about empowering yourself and others. With Arbonne, a person has a vehicle to bring to light the success they deserve.
We have an amazing SELF-ADJUSTING skin care line called Arbonne Intelligence line. It is a 5-Step skin care regimen, Step one is Arbonne Intelligence Daily Cleanser, which is pH correct, non-drying, protects the moisture barrier, does not disrupt the acid mantle, and is critical to the healthy start of a skin care regimen.
Step two is the Arbonne Intelligence Exfoliating Mask with Thermal Fusion, which incorporates the deep cleansing abilities of clay masques along with scrubs both chemically and mechanically along with thermal fusion. What you get from this product is perfectly cleansed skin and perfectly healthy pink tone from cell exfoliation.
The third step is the Arbonne Intelligence Daily Balancer. Again our Toner and Freshener create the perfect balance. Incorporating blue copper, a trace mineral that significantly increases the visible firmness of the skin. This is very important to a skin care regimen, to set up the proper balance to apply the moisturizer on.
We have Arbonne Intelligence Daily Eye Cream. You can’t forget the eye cream, this is the one area that we show aging at the earliest stage simply because of repetitive movements. It’s the personality that gives us age, every time we smile; those repetitive movements create fine lines and wrinkles around our eyes. You must incorporate a great eye cream on a daily basis.
Step five is the Arbonne Intelligence Daily Moisturizing Cream, for day and for night, it is again, a self-adjusting delivery system that works for both day and night to protect against transdermal water loss. All of this incorporates the herbs and botanicals, which Arbonne was founded on.
Arbonne Intelligence … not-so-basic skin care™
It is an incredible system of products, it’s simplified, it’s self-adjusting, and it’s truly intelligent
Key elements found throughout the Arbonne Intelligence self-adjusting formulations:
BIO-HYDRIAВ® COMPLEX
Arbonne’s proprietary blend of 7 concen-trated botanicals, including: Comfrey Root Extract, Cucumber Extract, Birch Leaf Extract, Watercress Extract, Clover Blossom Extract, Ginseng Extract and St. John’s wort. Toge-ther, these ingredients soften, cool, soothe, condition and normalize skin’s pH. The Cucumber and Birch Leaf extracts also add astringent properties to the formulation.
BLUE COPPER
Known to enhance skin clarity, Blue Copper helps to hydrate skin — without the shine. It also helps to protect against free radical damage.
ZINC
Zinc has been found to play a key role in promoting collagen synthesis in the dermis layer of the skin. It is also known for lowering sebaceous secretion which is beneficial in controlling oily skin.
PAPAIN
An enzyme found at its purest in green papaya, helps to gently dissolve dead surface skin cells without harming healthy ones. Papain from green, un-ripened fruit is 15 to 100 times stronger than other forms of papain at exfoliation.
ALPHA HYDROXY ACIDS
Fruit acids that are beneficial in exfolia-ting and rejuvenating skin. In addition to exfoliating, they play a role in keeping skin moist and supple.
LYSATE EXTRACT
A soothing, anti-irritant with de-puffing benefits.
THERMAL FUSION TECHNOLOGY
A revolutionary skin care technology that combines heat and water to optimize penetration of enzymes and prolongs their effectiveness. Arbonne’s proprietary skin care innovation stimulates circulation, penetration and enzyme activity for up to 45 minutes.
PHOSPHOLIPIDS
These are beneficial moisturizers, because of their ability to attract and hold water. They are extremely compatible with human skin lipids.
I want the very best results for you! I encourage you to contact me at. I hope my recommendations helped you! Start making the difference in your skin today!

Vitamin A Peel for acne prone skin? I used to visit some type of dermatologist clinic once a month for some type of Vitamin A facial peel to treat my acne breakouts.
From memory, it was orange/yellow colour facial, stings a bit when applying and applied, washed off after 10 minutes. It works for the next two weeks to dry up the facial oil glands for a few weeks.
Question: what is brand of the facial peel and where can I get it from.
Thank you!
spacemonkey replied: "I don't know if this is what you are looking for however you can learn how to make some home made scrubs . I you are really looking for that orange/yellow face peel you can check the link in that article for products (sort by brand name etc)
However I wold always recommend the free solution :-)

It prevents future and existing acne, diminishes scars, and lightens skin and blemishes. Fast results too! (It's been claimed that major results can be seen within a week and no later than two weeks)
Before and After photos are available at the given ebay site.
This person is providing 1-3 week trial samples (Only for ONE DOLLAR.. definitely a deal) on ebay at:
Search up "Cee En's Acne Solution" on ebay.
First 100 customers can get the item for $1 for one week trial and up to 3 weeks. Or you can purchase 1 month supply for $40, 3 month for $100, or 6 month supply for $150
It's expensive, but the product DOES work.
My sister and cousin who both have major acne have tried the product and they both give it thumbs up. I have also heard many great feedbacks about this cream.
I don't have a problem with acne, but it seems to have great results on my sister who has moderate to severe acne. Her acne swelling went away overnight.

I hope this helps. =)"

Vitamin E cream, okay to use on acne prone skin? I just bought Equate Vitamin E cream for my face, it's been really dry lately and I've heard that vitamin E cream is really good for dry skin. It says on the bottle it's non greasy and it feels really light on my face, but I was curious as to whether or not it will clog my pores? It doesn't say on the container.

Vitamins that are good for your skin? I'm looking for some vitamins that are good for overall skin health. In particular, ones that can prevent acne as my skin is acne-prone.
What are some good vitamins for the skin?
What types of foods are they found in or are they bought in the store?
Thanks!

Violette replied: "Vitamin E is good, but it isn't water soluble so take it with food. Omega 3 (found in fish oil capsules) are amaazing for skin."
Lauren H replied: "Vitamin D and E.
D will help absorb sun (sun has a lot of vitamin D, and if you spend a lot of time in the sun, acne decreases) and calcium which is needed for everything.
E is great for reducing scarring and maintaining elasticity."
dasher replied: "well, since you have the use of the internet, you can do a search, but I used to take Vitamin A and it helped my acne...."
cowgirl replied: "Biotin, zinc, & fish oil, are all good for the skin, along with vitamin e, and c. I done research on it for myself, but so far with a month of use, it's not doing much good for me."

i dont know the meaning of non greasy
is this product safe to use on oily acne prone skin ????
ZOOUK replied: "My friend had acne and went to the doctors. She was prescribed a medicine that worked really well and her skin cleared up. Exfoliating will only dry your skin and wont help the acne problem. It doesn't stop your pores producing excess amounts of oil. You will probably find that your skin will become sore and that the acne will look even worse. Get some Simple Soap to wash your face with and a tube of Germolene CREAM (not ointment). This isn't oily but will moisturize and also help with any soreness and inflamation. Too much money is spent on all these facial treatments when just the simplest things can help far more. If your acne is a real problem for you, go to the doctors and ask if they can help."

Lita replied: "Acne is an inflammatory skin disorder of the face, back, and chest. Although it is usually associated with hormone during puberty, it can also affect many adults. Whiteheads, blackheads, and pimples, result from an overgrowth of bacteria in oil-clogged pores. Keeping the skin clean is very important in helping to control acne, as taking vitamins, minerals, and herbal supplements, as wells as healthy eating and exercise habits, can be very beneficial.
ASTRINGENT MIXTURE = Half apple cider vinegar and half cool water. You can also freeze this solution into ice cubes and use it as a cooling facial treatment on a hot summer day.
OVERNIGHT PASTE = Honey, wheat flour, and vinegar, use it to lightly cover a new outbreak of
pimples overnight, rinse off in the morning. This should accelerate the healing process.
ACNE TREATMENT = Use a clean travel size bottle to mix 1 part vinegar and 10 parts water. Clean your face as usual in the morning, then carry this bottle and a few cotton balls with you so you can dab acne spots several times during the day. This solution shouldn't dry out your skin, and the vinegar will help return your skin to a natural pH balance. This treatment may also help prevent future acne outbreaks. Discontinue use if irritation worsens.
SIMPLE ANYTIME TREATMENT = Apply 1-2 drops of Tea Tree Oil on your acne pimples or acne area, anytime of day or night. You can leave it on for as long as possible. Tea Tree Oil is an herbal anesthetic oil, works wonders on any part of the skin, except in the eyes.

What facial moisturizers that contain an SPF 15 or above are best suited for combination and acne prone skin? I would like input from people who have used, liked, and would recommend a particular brand of facial moisturizer that doesn't clog your pores or cause even more breakouts.
So far I have only tried two moisturizers, and that is the Olay Complete Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15 for Combination/oily skin, and a vitamin E facial moisturizer from the body shop. Both however, seemed to do nothing but make my face more oily. When I apply them, it feels as if they're clogging my pores.
So for some time, I've stopped using any sort of moisturizer at all, since my skin is naturally oily, but sometimes it gets really dry because of acne spot treatments I use. So now I need to find something that works great, without spending money to experiment on various brands of moisturizers I will probably end up discarding after a few uses.
*I have tried salicylic acid for my acne before, however my skin seems to have a reaction to it. But BP works pretty well.
Dee replied: "Clean and clear has an oil free moisturizer with spf 15. There is one with salicylic and one with out.
Good luck!"

What vitamins improve hair, nails, and skin? Somehow I ended up with horribly thin hair, brittle nails, and acne prone/oily skin. Is there some vitamin I can take to help me with these 3 things? I have been trying to read up, I've come across vitamin B complex. If that does help what brand or vitamin do you suggest?
